Great Ideas for Virtual Team Building: How to Rally a Remote Team

Do you work in a virtual office and are looking for fresh ideas for team-building events? We share a selection of super fun and easy-to-implement activities that will not only dilute the routine of online meetings, but also really help your team members become closer to each other.

Why does virtual team building work?

It's easy to lose the sense of team in remote work, but this is not a verdict! All you need is a little creativity, regularity, and a desire to get to know each other a little better. These activities can be carried out at the beginning of the meeting, during breaks, or even stretched over several weeks – choose what suits you best.

1."Guess who's the baby"

Ask your colleagues to send you their childhood photos in advance. Collect them in a presentation and arrange a fun guessing game: who is who? You can vote in the chat, discuss the versions out loud or do it in the format of a mini-quest. A great way to get to know each other from a new side and charge with positive energy for the whole day!

2."Once upon a time"

Do you like stories? Then this exercise is for you! Each in turn adds a sentence to a fictional story, trying to bring it to a logical conclusion. The main thing is not to leave the last participant in a bind. It turns out to be very fun and helps to pump up the creativity of the whole team.

3."Reply to the last word"

This is a great practice of active listening. One participant tells something about himself or about his work, and the next begins his story with the last words of the previous one. This not only develops attention, but also helps to better understand each other – after all, listening online can be difficult!

4."Three truths and one lie"

A classic of virtual meetings! Everyone shares three true facts about themselves and one fiction. The others guess which one is a lie. It's an easy way to learn unexpected details about your colleagues and have a good laugh together.
